Food Assistance For Gifted Students In the GTA

HalalServe is committed to making healthy, nutritious, and halal groceries more accessible and affordable for gifted GTA high school students and their families who struggle with food insecurity.

This pilot project specifically seeks to assist GTA families who face financial barriers to affording halal, healthy & nutritious diets. 

Help us help Gifted Students perform better at school, and have a better chance at reaching their true academic potentials. 

Food assistance will be provided (once a month via Grocery Store Gift Cards to fifteen eligible families from the Greater Toronto Area.

Here at HalalServe, we serve fresh halal groceries bi-weekly to over 300 people. But this is not enough to meet the growing demand for service. More and more families are facing the risk of food shortages and need our help now more than ever.

Vulnerable Families

The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated poverty and hunger for countless families in Canada. 1 in 7 Canadians is reported to experience food insecurity due to the pandemic. This means fathers, mothers, and children live at risk of not knowing the source of their next meal.

Here at HalalServe, we serve fresh halal groceries bi-weekly to over 300 people. But this is not enough to meet the growing demand for service. More and more families are facing the risk of food shortages and need our help now more than ever.

  2. If your Application is on behalf of more than one person (a single household living at the same address), we require details about ALL members of that household, and Financial Documentation for all Adults.
  3. Please review the supporting documents link below so you can provide all necessary supporting documents for each of your household members. This is important for us to complete a proper assessment of your situation and provide you with the appropriate type of assistance.

Serving the Mississauga area since 2016, HalalServe was initially launched under DawaNet‘s CanadaZakat initiative but is now a DawaNet Charitable Services program. We are committed to providing fresh Halal food groceries to local families in need. We also offer free home delivery to eligible clients who have limited mobility.
